Right Fit Admissions Consulting was founded in 2015 by Mary Folsom. We are committed to helping families find their "Right Fit" school and encouraging their students' success!
Mary has always been passionate about children and education. During her eleven year career in corporate marketing, she was an active volunteer and program director with organizations such as The Boys & Girls Club, Family Connections and The Bay Area Women's & Children's Center. In 1996, Mary changed her career and helped to create, open and run Leadership High School, San Francisco's first startup charter high school. Once open, Mary was Director of Admissions and Fundraising. Mary received her education at Hamilton College (B.A.) and The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA (M.B.A.). In 2012, she was certified as an Enneagram Teacher, which provides a unique perspective and sensitive appreciation for students' strengths, passions and areas for growth. Mary has also served on the Board of Trustees and been very involved at the middle and high schools where her three children attended in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Virginia is a Bay Area native with a global perspective that she brings to her work with young people and their families. She was born and raised in Berkeley, attended boarding school on the East Coast, and earned a B.A. in English and Political Science from U.C. Berkeley and an MSc. from the London School of Economics. She lived abroad and traveled widely during her career in international finance before returning home to California with her husband to raise their family. As a parent in local private schools, Virginia volunteered in numerous areas including admissions, athletics, and the arts. In the community at large, she completed the San Mateo Leadership Program and was a member of the founding coalition of the Home & Hope family shelter network. She is active with Peninsula Bridge and other organizations that support local families and, since 2015, has been guiding families through the private school admissions process.
